Found an old manual Nikon AIS 28mm lens on ebay and tried out another timelapse test sequence with this lens fitted to the camera. The results were perfect, not the slightest hint of flicker.
Now to look into animating the camera move…

May I perhaps suggest the eMotimo PT (a quick google should bring it up). It’s a very clever bit of kit, I’m doing my timelapses the other way around, started with the camera move and litterally today brought a manual lens…
That eMotimo stuff looks fantastic, vaguely Heath-Robinsonesque. I will have a better look at their stuff once I have my latest deadline out of the way. The miniatures/timelapse shoot is still evolving but taking back seat to Sky F1 for the time being.
